Remember my name!

Went to see FAME on Saturday. Meh.
Remakes stink.
It wasn't a shot-for-shot or anything, and I know originals are almost always better than remakes, but I had high hopes. Oh well. Not enough character development, and no iconic dancing-in-the-street scene. I KNOW.
On a good note, the music was good, the dancing was good. The character Denise, who sings "Fame", "Out Here on My Own", and a few others is fantastic. I hope she has a very lucrative career, cause that girl's got pipes.
Something great came out of it, though. We found a new place to see movies. The Newton Theatre has been renovated by the same guy who redid the Lafayette in Suffern and the theater in Teaneck, and is just lovely. Tickets are only $7 for any show, any day, any time. AND! There's an organ player, live, before the show. Love. It.
